The Seabrook, New Hampshire nuclear power plant's operating license has been extended by more than three years, expiring in March 2030.
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- Seabrook had applied for the change last year. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's decision was issued last week.
The plant had sought an extension that would permit it to operate for the full, 40-year lifetime from the date when its full-power operating license was issued.
The commission approved the extension to recover time the plant spent in low-power testing before receiving the full-power license.
